A Seamless Transformation on the Bay

Jack and Rafael first came to us with a clear goal: to remove a wall in the second bedroom of their Venetian Islands condo, and integrate the space with the living room. They were also craving a re-fresh of the space—something that felt elevated, refined, and maybe a little unexpected.

From Fragmented to Fluid

With sweeping views of Biscayne Bay and the glittering Miami skyline, the condo offered the perfect canvas for transformation. The original layout felt compartmentalized, even without the dividing wall. We set out to weave the living room, dining area, and guest bedroom into one cohesive, multifunctional environment—elegant by day, effortlessly intimate by night.

Design That Adapts

The reimagined guest room now serves as a seductive media lounge most of the year, anchored by sculptural lounge chairs and a striking console designed by Ico Parisi in 1960 and 1945 respectively, now produced by Cassina. At its heart is a custom built-in by Clei London, featuring a rotating panel—TV on one side, a pull-down queen bed on the other. When guests stay over, a sliding wall comprised of three concealed panels, custom built by Bartels Doors, closes off the space, transforming it into a private retreat.

Lighting as Atmosphere
An incredibly discreet “Pista” lighting system by Modular Lighting Systems includes mini spotlights that showcase the couple’s art collection with gallery-level precision. Layered pendants and fixtures create a warm, alluring glow that shifts with the time of day and mood of the space.

Materials That Whisper Luxury
Warm walnut finishes and exquisite hand embroidered Pierre Frey drapery lend an inviting richness to the open layout, balanced by an Italia sectional from RH and iconic accent furnishings by Florence Knoll and Warren Platner. The result is a space that feels curated, collected, and quietly captivating.

“Especially at night, with the lighting elements that you've introduced, the apartment is sexy. There's so many different dimensions to all these different spaces, whether the dining room, living room, the den, the way that it all comes together… Where we've ended up is so far beyond where we started, it's still kind of amazing. We sit here in the evenings and marvel that this is what our space has turned into. We’re just so happy with it.”
